Dollar General Corporation
Melissa Heisse is Senior Director of Lease Administration at Dollar General Corporation, a retailer that has been delivering value to shoppers for 80 years. Melissa has over 20 years’ experience at Dollar General where her team of lease administration professionals manages rent administration, lease audit, landlord compliance, renewal negotiations, and asset strategy for a 15,000+ store portfolio. She successfully led Dollar General’s Lease Administration software migration project, and she served on the company’s Lease Accounting Steering Committee throughout the implementation of FASB 842. Melissa was the recipient of Dollar General’s Chairman’s Circle award in 2010 for exceptional project management.
Melissa earned a BBA from Belmont University in Nashville, TN, and she holds a CCIM designation. She currently serves on the Lucernex Customer Advisory Board, and she is the Finance Chairperson for her local church in Hendersonville, TN. Melissa and her husband, John, who also works for Dollar General, have one son, Jack.
Real Estate Portfolio Manager
Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Heather Lacy is the Real Estate Portfolio Manager for Amazon Web Services (AWS). In her current role, Heather is responsible for portfolio metrics and reporting, critical date management, coordinating the real estate renewal process, and creating KPI’s and SLA’s for the existing portfolio.
Prior to joining AWS, Heather was the Global Lease Administration Manager for HP, Inc. HP has commercial real estate leases in over 90 countries. Leases are in multiple languages and currencies and are impacted by various local laws. Her responsibilities included Lease Administration best practices and process for HP’s global real estate portfolio. In addition, while at HP, Heather led the implementation and automation of global rent payments in over 45 countries.
Before that role, Heather was the Global Lease Administration Manager for Nike, Inc. During her time with Nike, Heather oversaw the global relationship with Nike’s service provider and helped to implement Tririga for Lease Administration and Lease Accounting. In addition, Heather was instrumental in developing processes and cross-functional relationships that more fully integrated and enhanced service delivery to Nike. Prior to joining Nike, Heather worked for over a decade for Hollywood Video, holding various positions as the company grew from a handful of stores to over 2,000 locations throughout the United States.

Asset Strategies Group, LLC
Theresa Wecker is CFO of Asset Strategies Group, LLC, the leading provider of outsourced retail real estate business services, improving specialty retail return on investment.
Throughout her career, Theresa has been critically involved in lease administration and lease auditing for retailers. Brands she has helped include Payless ShoeSource, Foot Locker, Express, LLC, DSW, Ann, Inc., The Gap Companies, Ross Dress for Less, Best Buy, PetSmart, Petco, Tory Burch, The Children’s Place, Bow Tie Cinemas, Kohl’s and Helzberg Diamonds. She has worked to improve profitability for her employers and clients through lease administration process improvement, technology selection and implementation, ASC 842 implementation, and lease audit best practice consulting.
Theresa has been a member of the NRTA since 1999 and a member of the Curriculum Committee since 2015.

Pernell Bonifacio Agdeppa, Esq. is Director, Real Estate Legal for Panda Restaurant Group, Inc. in Rosemead, California. In his current position, Pernell provides strategic execution of complex real estate transactions including acquisition, development, and leasing of new company sites and locations; he manages legal due diligence and entitlement timelines and obtains third party consents to achieve expedited closings; he establishes real estate network and works with the real estate community (e.g., attorneys; brokers; etc.) to support the company’s growth strategies. Pernell coordinates closing budget analyses, property summaries, and closing documentation. Prior to joining Panda Restaurant Group, Pernell was a Principal and sole shareholder for Agdeppa & Associates, P.C. From June 2005 – August 2008 Pernell was the Assistant Counsel & Project Manager for SE Corporation.
Pernell received his Juris Doctor, May 2004 from Southwestern University School of Law, Los Angeles, California. He was a Member, Interscholastic Trial Advocacy Program, 2003-2004.

Glenn Browne, Esq. is a shareholder in the law firm Braun, Browne & Associates, P.C., in Riverwoods, Illinois. His law practice is concentrated in the areas of purchase and sale of real estate, commercial leasing and lease-related matters, and the purchase and sale of businesses.
Glenn obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communications at the University of Illinois. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois, where he published an article for the University of Illinois Law Review and served as an Editor for the University of Illinois Law Review.
Glenn lectures at events throughout the country for organizations including the National Business Institute, the National Retail Tenants Association, and the International Council of Shopping Centers, concerning retail, industrial and office leasing, as well as real estate related matters. Glenn is on the Editorial Board for the newsletter Commercial Leasing Law & Strategy.
Glenn is married to the love of his life, Maribeth, and has four children.
Senior Manager of Lease Administration
Cynthia Headman is the Senior Manager of Lease Administration for Burlington Stores and has over 30 years of retail real estate and lease administration experience. She is responsible for rent administration and lease compliance. Cindy successfully manages a team of lease auditors, property management and lease administration specialists who drive results, minimizing rent and tax expense as well as maintaining lease compliance from landlords. She leads a team that successfully meets financial objectives annually including the ability to identify areas of expense reduction on an ongoing basis. The team has achieved millions of dollars in savings through vigorous lease auditing activities, including desktop and third-party reviews. Additionally, in partnership with the Property Management Team, Cindy manages landlord relationships and communication regarding all leased assets.
Cindy is a longtime member of the NRTA and is proud to serve on the Curriculum Committee.
